The foundation is reinforcing the development of the non-profit sector, philanthropy and voluntary work and thus contributing to the development of civil society and European integration. It supports those non-profit organizations which provide help to threatened and disadvantaged groups; it protects human rights, democratic values, contributes to mutual communication and tolerance of minorities in society, or in other ways raises the awareness of citizens of regional development and public life. One of the key target groups is children and young people, whom the foundation supports within the scope of specific programmes. The foundation is also permanently trying to increase the levels of information and education in the non-profit sector.
The foundation’s central activity is the provision of grant support for concrete projects of non-governmental, non-profit organizations registered in the Czech Republic, such as civic associations, public benefit corporations, and church institutions. This is being done within
a framework of individual grant programmes for which the foundation receives resources both from national and foreign/supranational institutions. In addition, the foundation is actively creating or realising programmes according to its overall aims.
